Fun Times with Room Service Atlanta!

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! My weekend was FAB-U-LOUS! I got lots of rest and just focused on doing only the things I love. I learned that I should do that more often...

I want to start the week off with something fun and inspirational. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful event honoring Room Service Atlanta. Room Service Atlanta is an organization of local interior designers who use their talents to make that Atlanta community a much better place. I did a post on their first project at the Nicholas House here. It was a perfectly successful project and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams hosted a beautiful event to celebrate their success.

Here are some highlights...

Erika and Dayka are the leading ladies of Room Service Atlanta- and two of the most wonderful people I have met here in Atlanta.

I got there a little early, so I had time to check out the store. If you have never been to Mitchell Gold +Bob Williams, now is the time to visit the store or visit their website. This was my first visit and I found their furniture to be quite amazing. Their furniture is a perfect mix of modern and traditional. I loved all of the clean lines and the neutral tones- my favorite type of design.

No event is perfect without good food- and the food was SO good!

I loved the dessert! They were cake pops from the Candy Cake Company. So so so good! I think they would be quite perfect for a baby or wedding shower, too.

The best part of the event for me was meeting other wonderful bloggers and being able to put a face with a name...

This is me and my girl Lori of Lori May Interiors. I met her during the Nicholas House project, but we were able to doing some more catching up at the event. Such a sweet person...

Meet (from left) Rhoda of Southern Hospitality, Renae of Renae Moore Designs, and Angela of The Painted House. Rhoda and I are both GRITS (Girls Raised In The South). I learned that term from her. You can only imagine that she is quite hilarious...

I also had the pleasure of meeting Rashon (aka Mr. Goodwill Hunting). His presence was quite a surprise to me and most everyone at the event. He is a real and genuine person who is also truly talented. He has a successful blog, is the king of thrifting, and has been on the Nate Berkus Show three times! I'm so excited to see where his talents will take him to next! He is currently offering design services via Skype. How creative is that?? Be sure to check out his blog if you are interested!

I had so much fun at this event and am so excited for Room Service Atlanta. Erika and Dayka were recently featured in Atlanta Magazine and I couldn't be more happier for them. They are working on a project for the fall and I will certainly be the first one to sign up to volunteer!

Relaxing

I'm loving these rustic and cozy spaces. They are a perfect depiction of what I will be doing this weekend, which is relaxing. No bbq's, no rustle, no bustle. I'm even going to take advantage of the holiday and return to regular posting on Tuesday... Just need to relax...

I hope you have a fabulous holiday weekend...

My Latest Diaper Cake

I've confessed several times that I am not much of a DIY'er, but there is one thing that I truly enjoy making...

I LOVE making diaper cakes! I have been making them for a few years now. I watched a few YouTube videos and kind of came up with my own way of making them.

I made this cake for a very dear friend last week for her baby shower. It was the perfect centerpiece for the gift table. Would you believe that there are 205 size 3 diapers in this cake?? Phew!!! My friend's smile was priceless when she saw it, which is what I enjoy the most about making these "cakes."

You can see more of my cakes here. If you live in the Atlanta area and would like for me to make a cake for you, just send me an e-mail to let me know!

Rise & Shine!

If these golden Elie Saab masterpieces don't get you going on this Monday, then I don't know what will...

If my week is going to be anything like my weekend with my dad, then this is going to be a great week! We had the BEST time! I hope your week is off to a good start!

Father-Daughter Time

I'm so excited because my dad is coming to visit me this weekend! Based on that quote, my dad is the richest man in the world. I can't wait to see him.

Have a great weekend...

Love It...

Layla at The Lettered Cottage recently posted this pic of her bright bedroom. I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it. I love beds that look and feel cozy and warm. The quilt and neutral tones in this space create that look perfectly. Love it...

Wishes...

Today I am wishing...

That I could wake up here...

and get ready for my day here.

Then go to this kitchen...

to make my favorite breakfast- blueberry pancakes.

After breakfast, I would love to do a little work and a little blogging here...

Then relax and take a little nap here. You know how much I love my naps...

Knowing me, this is where I would be for the remainder of the day...

Just wishing on this Wednesday...

My Living Room

So I'm finally posting pics of my living room and dining room. They are the two rooms in my house that I am completely pleased with. I still have a little accessorizing to do, but overall it's finished. It's a neutral palette with modern and traditional elements, so the space totally reflects my style...
Sorry for the small photo! I confessed here that I am not much of a DIY'er- if only there were more time!! So I save money to buy the major pieces and heavily utilize Target, TJMaxx and HomeGoods for most of the accessories.

The room was actually designed around this rug. I liked the warm colors and geometrical shapes, which represent a modern element of the space.

The rug, the chairs, and the sofa came from Bassett. Note that just because I buy the big pieces at nice stores doesn't mean I buy them at full price! All of my purchases from Bassett were 30% off. The leather ottoman was a gift from my mom and the side tables are from Target.

This lamp is one of my favorite accessories. I love the color and it goes well with the rug. It was a floor sample at Bassett, so I got it for 30% off.

I purchased the tray and the vase from the sale section at Pottery Barn. And I'm obsessed with InStyle magazines...

The leaning bookcases are from Target. I bought four of them at $50 each and made sure I got free shipping! I assembled them and put them side-by-side. I love how they turned out! The floor lamp is from Bassett. Yep, I got that one on sale at 30% off, too!

I needed some extra storage, so I purchased these baskets from TJMaxx and lined them up on the bottom shelves of the bookcases. They are perfect for storing random things.

I purchased the leather mirror from Kirkland's for $49.99. I don't think I could live without a Kirkland's! They have the best stuff. The rug is from Walmart. I would love to update the lighting one day...

The hurricanes and candles are from Target. I empty them in the spring for a fresh look and fill the bottom of them with coffee beans in the fall. The smell of coffee just reminds me of fall.

So that's my living and dining room! It took a few years to complete (crazy), but I love how it turned out. They say your home should be a reflection of your personal style and welcome you with open arms each time you enter the room. I definitely feel welcome here.

Linking up with Tuesday's Treasures at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia!!

The Osbourne's Rockin' New L.A. Home

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Well I admit, I LOVE Sharon Osbourne. You never know exactly will come out of her mouth, but you can trust that it's real and it's honest. That's why I like her. I love British accent, too. I can now add her home to the list of things I love about her. Her new home in Hidden Hills, CA was recently featured in Architectural Digest. It's MUCH different than her last home that was decorated in dark, rich tones. L.A. designer Martyn-Lawrence Bullard designed this cozy, bright and beautiful home that is just mouth-wateringly gorgeous...

I'm wishing I could visit her for a spot of tea and a fun conversation... like... today...

Weekend To-Do List

Happy Friday!!! Those are my two favorite words right now...

I hope you have had a great week. I spent most of my week on Pinterest!! I think it should be outlawed!! I have lost a few hours of sleep due to my hours of browsing and pinning- but I love it. I know I am late joining, but I knew that time was going to be wasted if I joined, but I took the plunge anyway. I just need to learn to pace myself.

I always start my weekends off by making a to-do list. It just keeps me organized. I'm a stickler for organization. I did a search for "to-do lists" on Pinterest and found this one. Gosh you can find EVERYTHING on there! Anyway, I love this list and need to do everything on it. However, I'm not sure I can stay off the Internet now that Blogger died for a few days! But it's all good!

What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, make it a good one!
