Friday's Fancies: The Wedge

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6

So I have this crazy thing for wedges. I wear them all year round because my feet love the comfort of them. They told me so... :)

I've seen some really cute wedges for spring and these are a few of my favorites. The first four are perfect for casual outings. I really like the floral wedges by TOMS. They would be perfect with a pair of white shorts and a solid tank or tee. The last two would be perfect for work. The older I get, the more imperative it is for me AND my feet to be comfortable while I'm working. Can you relate?

Are you loving a certain type of shoe for spring?

Are you also LOVING the fact that it's Friday? I certainly am! Happy weekend...

Her Style: Natalie Merrillyn

I've got another special guest for you today! I ran across Natalie's gorgeous blog shortly after I started my blog. I admired her amazing sense of style and fashion and still do as her blog is one of my daily reads. I asked her to share her style as it relates to interiors today just so you could see for yourself. I think you might like it... :)

*********************

Hello Savor Home readers! I'm Natalie from Natalie Merrillyn and I'm so excited to be sharing a few images that highlight my interior design style. My style tends to be classic with touches of glamour.

I love this entry way. I would love a large floor mirror like this one to add to my apartment!

This is my dream living room. I love the black tufted bench and the touch of fur on the sofa.

For a workspace, I love bright, open spaces. It's so inspiring to be in that environment! Obsessed with the "For Like Ever" print and the ghost chair.

This kitchen is one of my favorites. The pendant lighting is so amazing!

Adding a chandelier or cool pendant above a dining room is a must for me. I love the clean look of this dining room.

I love the idea of adding wallpaper to a small space like a bathroom. {Definitely excited to not be renting so I can do this!}

I love the different textures and tones in this bedroom. Gorgeous!

Thanks so much, Tiffany for having me! And please stop by Natalie Merrillyn for more inspiration!

Just A Little Gold...

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

It's no secret that I am a lover of all things neutral when it comes to decor. But I admit that neutral decor needs a little spice. Little touches of gold does the trick for me. I just like a little, not so much that one would be uncomfortable touching things. These are some of my favorite things right now from a few of my favorite boutiques (Pieces, Jayson Home and Design Darling). They all work in traditional or modern environments, which I love. I have the gold tray (#8) and I love it's versatility. It can hold keys, jewelry, perfume or be perfectly fine on it's own.

P.S. I tried to apply a budget to my items, but it didn't quite work out... :)

And another thing... If you are ever in Atlanta, you have GOT to stop by Pieces. Just amazing...

Oh and one more thing... I woke up at 1AM this morning to make some changes to this post. Do you ever have random ideas for blog posts in the middle of the night? Just asking...

Recipe Roundup!

Hi there! I hope your week is off to a good start. Well, I have been posting recipes and my food photos for almost a year now, so I thought I do a little roundup of some of my favorites. If someone would have told me ten years ago that I would love cooking and food photography, I would have laughed at them. I loved watching Food Network, but barely used a stove back then. Strange I know... But now I love to cook and find it and photography to be incredibly relaxing. So let's start with the most important part of any meal.. dessert! Click on the links below the photos if you would like the recipe!

Peanut Butter Toast w/ Honey and Bananas

Can you tell I kinda love chocolate and pasta??

You can see more tasty treats I have featured in the past here!

Weekend In Six Pics

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I have to say that my weekend was GREAT! I was exhausted on Friday and had to work on Sunday, so I cancelled all plans on Saturday to have just one day to recharge and enjoy the beautiful weather without a schedule. Wonderful decision... I let the windows up and spent some time playing around with my camera, reading, watching Food Network and flipping through Restoration Hardware's spring catalogs. I think I stared at that bedroom for ten minutes. So gorgeous... I also organized my closet for spring and summer. I am so in love with my new necklace. I'm also loving all things metallic these days, so that Kate Spade wallet caught my eye when I saw it a few weeks ago during the Kate Spade sample sale. I couldn't resist it or the price, so I scarfed it up...

On Sunday, I took a break from work and made Ina Garten's Mussels in White Wine. They were divine! I also made the BEST lemonade that I have ever had. It's basil lemonade by Jess of Forgiving Martha. "Heavenly" is probably the best way to describe it.

And before I go, I must send a very special thank you to my lovely mom. Last week, she sent me this basket of 20 gifts to open for the next 20 days. It was like Christmas Day when I saw it and it's like Christmas morning when I open a gift each day! I love you mom!

Friday's Fancies: Maxed Out

It's Friday and I am beyond thrilled! I am also thrilled to have had the time this week to put a little outfit together for ya. Today, it's all about the maxi...

Maxi dresses are my FAVORITE and I hope they never ever go out of style. They are incredibly comfortable + they save time because you don't have to worry about pairing a top and a bottom. That saves me an hour sometimes! With maxies, all you have to worry about is accessorizing. Love that. This dress is printed and fabulous on its own, so I kept the accessories simple. I'm kind of dying over that Mulberry bag. Isn't it lovely? A simple little necklace with the initial on it has been on my wish list for a while. That one happens to be my favorite. And yep, those are diamond hoops. But don't worry, their impostors - only $68 bucks. That's about $777 cheaper than the maxi. But it's ok right? :)

Well, I'm off to start checking things off my weekend to-do list. It's a long one! I hope you have a great weekend...

Bring Spring Home: Style For Living

The air is warmer, the flowers are blossoming and my car is covered in pollen, so spring is here! Do you spruce up your home for spring? If so, I have called on someone who I think is an expert in design to give you five easy ways to help you spruce up your home for spring! Marianne of Style For Living is one of the most genuine and talented people I know (you can see her  portfolio here) and I look forward to meeting her at BlogFest!!

******************

I am so happy to be here on Tiffany's gorgeous blog today.  She happens to be one of my favorite bloggers and I'm always drooling over the delicious recipes and pretty images she features.  Plus, I'm so excited to finally meet her in person in a few months!  Lucky, lucky me.  I was thrilled when she asked me to write a post on 5 ways to add spring to your home.  So, without further ado, here are 5 of my favorites.

Bring the outside in.  I love having blooming branches in my house.  They add such a nice earthy element to the home.  I have actually been taking branches off my cherry blossom trees.  I have five in my backyard that are always so gorgeous this time of year.  The best part... it's free!

One word... wallpaper!  Always a fan of adding some color and depth to a room with a gorgeous wallpaper.  This one by Asuka by Osborne & Little happens to be a favorite of mine.

White does wonders!  I only use white towels and sheets in my home.  They always look crisp and clean and a little bit of bleach does wonders.  Bring on the white!

Don't forget your desk.  How fun are these notes in bright spring colors!  I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to receive a note written on pretty paper.

Jo Malone candles.  Yes, they can be pricey, but you do get what you pay for.  These candles smell amazing, even after you blow out the flame.  I recently purchased one in Nectarine Blossom & Honey and the smell is intoxicating!

Fabulous tips Marianne! Nothing like fresh white towels and a fresh-smelling house! What are you doing to bring spring into your home? Marianne and I would love to hear!

Style At Home: Suzanne Kasler

Was that not an eyeful or what? This is the new Atlanta home of the oh so talented Suzanne Kasler. Her home is perfectly styled with a mixture of traditional, modern and neutral decor- my favorite. I am really loving lighting in the dining area and the simplicity of the master bathroom. So beautiful... And you know I love white kitchens with white tile and glass-paneled cabinetry. Between the kitchen and that beautiful outdoor space, one could host one lovely spring party.

Do you love it? If so, you can see more of Suzanne's beautiful home here.

Weekend In Six

Hello!! How was your weekend? I hope it was fabulous. My weekend was both busy and restful. It started off with happy hour- a much much much needed happy hour with good friends and big baskets of tortilla chips. I think I ate about 1,000 chips - ok maybe 500. I also had the BEST glass of Sauvignon Blanc I have ever had. It was Vina San Pedro 35 Degrees South. Inexpensive. Delicious.

Tulips have been on my nightstand every week for the last month. I can't get enough of them.

After my Pilates class on Saturday, I ordered a Thai chicken salad with edamame. Can you tell I love salads?? After I ordered the salad, the cashier asked me if would like a pastry for $.99. I said, "Yes!" before I even realized I said yes. I got an orange scone. I took it home, photographed it and planned to save it for later. But I caved and took one bite and 5 bites later, the only thing left were crumbs. So much for Pilates. So much for the salad.

After lunch, I went to dreamland (i.e. Restoration Hardware). The living room was the first thing I saw. I wish I could have told the cashier to just put it all on my credit card... THEN I saw that bedroom. Dreamy is the word right? I heart dreamland...

Oh and my weekend treat...
Banana Republic. On sale. Love.
