So Excited!

So I have been waiting for this day since January!! As you are reading this, I am in Charleston, South Carolina at a food photography workshop hosted by the one and only Helene Dujardin of the beautiful blog Tartelette. I signed up for the workshop way back in January and today is the first full day. I met Helene and the other attendees last night and this is going to be so much fun people! Many of you know that food photography is one of my passions and I am doing everything I can to learn more about it when time permits. I am so grateful to be at this workshop and I CAN'T WAIT to share my photos with you next week! I'll be posting little details during the trip on Twitter and Instagram (both @savorhome), so follow along if you like!

Have a great weekend!

P.S. This week was a bit of a whirlwind for me, so sorry I don't have any links for you! I hope to be back on schedule next week, but don't hold me to it... :)

P.P.S. Don't forget to set your clocks back on Saturday night before bed! I can't begin to tell you how happy I am about that...

2 Designs By 2 Talented Designers

Perhaps two of my favorite things about design bloggers are seeing their own homes and seeing the miracles they work in the homes of their clients. Today I just wanted to share those two types of spaces by two of my favorite design bloggers. A lot of "two's" there I know... Ha.

First is the master bedroom of Sarah Swanson of Sarah Swanson Design. I have always admired the simplicity of Sarah's style. She recently shared this space on her blog and I just had to share it again. The whole room just screams style and comfort. I love the throw pillows on the bed and the mirror, which reflects one of her lovely paintings. I have two of her paintings and love them. You can find more details on her space here and her paintings here.

The next space was designed by my dear friend, Marianne Simon of Marianne Simon Design. Marianne and I met in blogland and in person back in May and she is fabulous and very talented. She has a classic, clean style that is comfortable and cozy all in one. This space she designed for one of her clients is the perfect example. I have dreams about that settee! Isn't it amazing?? You can see more of the space here.

P.S. Do you spy one of Sarah's paintings in Marianne's space?? It's on the far right of the second pic... Love.

The Ghastly Grape

So I have a little treat for you! Amy from Your Southern Peach is here to share a tasty cocktail for you today that is perfect for Halloween! Amy shares wonderful recipes and cocktails on her blog and is also a contributor to Society Social. I hope you enjoy!

***********************

Hi there! I'm Amy and I'm honored to be guest posting for Tiffany today! Tiffany and I began blogging about same time and over the years I've really enjoyed getting to know her via this gorgeous space we refer to as Savor Home. It just so happens we both call Atlanta home, too!

Today I'm literally mixing things up here on Savor Home. When I host large parties, I always like to have a premixed theme cocktail to get the party started. It signals that the bar is open and also takes the pressure off of guests to mix a drink from scratch. As hard as I try to be a great hostess, it's almost impossible to play bartender the entire duration of the party, especially for a larger group. Most of the time I tend to stick to stick to classics when it comes to my cocktails, but Halloween just screams for something a little more daring don't ya think? This Ghastly Grape cocktail is a gorgeous shade that plays nicely with traditional Halloween colors and is absolutely delicious, too! With three simple ingredients, this cocktail makes your Halloween frighteningly festive and fun.

Here is what you need and what to do (Makes about 3 cups):

1 1/2 cups raspberry flavored vodka
1 cup grape fruit juice
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
Orange slices for garnish

Mix all three ingredients together and chill for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice and garnish with an orange slice!

Thanks for having me today and please feel free to come say hello at my own personal blog, Your Southern Peach. Three cheers to a ghastly and giddy Halloween!

Lately...

Pumpkin carving contest winner | String lights, which I have been obsessed with lately | Mouth-watering beignets | Green leaves that just don't want to turn | Essentials (including my favorite bracelet) for an upcoming trip

Well happy Monday people! Was it me or did the weekend go by entirely too fast?? I got lots done, drank lots of hot tea (it's cold here!), had a great night out with some friends and took a long Sunday nap. I wish I could have those two days back! But hopefully this week will be as good as last week. Last week I went to a Halloween event at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens where I saw insane results from a pumpkin carving contest. Isn't that pumpkin amazing?? I also went to my new favorite restaurant in Atlanta, The Optimist. The decor was amazing and well, I would eat there daily if my waistline and budget would allow it. They specialize in fresh sustainable seafood. I stuffed my face with grilled octopus, red snapper and those succulent beignets. Yum!

On Sunday, I started packing for an upcoming trip that I will tell you about later this week! It's gonna be good!

Have a great week and those of you who live on the east coast on the U.S. are in my prayers!

Ruffled + Links

How fabulous is that top?? I love it! So how was your week? This week flew by for me, which is good because I have been looking forward to this weekend since last weekend! This weekend is my only weekend sans major plans for the remainder of the year (crazy), so I plan to take advantage of that by taking it easy, finishing this magazine (which is now officially my favorite magazine), sleeping in, lounging in my pj's for an extended period of time and trying to avoid the Halloween candy I bought for the kiddos. It's gonna be good. I hope your weekend is even better...

Here are few things that I loved this week...

One of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen. It's Danielle Steele's daughter's wedding dress, so you know it's gorgeous...

Starting Monday, I would like to try this recipe for productivity - emphasis on "would like." It definitely makes sense. Not having my news fix first thing in the morning among other things might be tough for me...

Is Pinterest killing blogs? Just asking.

Everything this designer does is just pretty. Hang out on her blog for a while and you will see.

Versace, Armani, Dior, Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Oakwell couture at their finest...

Salted caramel + croissants = love.

Floor Jewels...

If you look down in these gorgeous spaces, do you love what you see? The rugs in this lovely home are like little jewels that bring the Asian inspired decor in the space together. Quite lovely I think...

Pink Lady Spinach & Blue Cheese Salad

So - if you read yesterday's post, then you might know that I have an abundance of apples, pink lady apples to be specific, on my hands. On Sunday, I planned to make this really sweet, cute-looking dessert for you. At the end of the day, I ended up making a pink lady spinach salad - in a skillet. Please let me explain...
