Just Gray...

I'll be honest in saying that gray is not the first color I think of when it comes to wall colors, especially deep grays. But I do adore these spaces. They show how textures and complimentary colors can lighten the mood of a gray space. The furniture and accessories in these spaces are perfection right? And I truly wish that closet were mine...

Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookies

So... I'm working tons, which means that I am extra dependent on chocolate which means that I have it once three times a day which means that my eyes are drawn to pretty much any recipe with chocolate. Oh, which means that this is the second week in a row that I have posted a recipe that contains chocolate. I hope that's cool with you.

I found this recipe on one of my favorite food blogs, 101 Cookbooks. I am from the south and skillets are just about as necessary in a southern kitchen as a fork is in any kitchen, so I am loving the skillet here. These cookies are also made with whole wheat flour. That makes me go "hmmm" because I've never made cookies with whole wheat flour before. But these cookies will still grace my skillet! I'll let you know how they turn out...

My Perfect Pretend Saturday

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend and a great Easter! I don't have anything exciting to report since I'm still fighting to meet my deadline which is THIS WEEK! So excited! Since I don't have too much to report, I thought I would hit ya with another edition of My Perfect Pretend Day. I did a similar post here and it was so fun to put together. So here goes...

***********************

It would be a beautiful Saturday morning and the buzzing sound from the alarm clock is nonexistent. I wake up naturally in my comfy bed fitted with crisp white linens. My view might look something like this...

I roll over only to find that my strikingly handsome husband is gone. But then I listen carefully and hear him fumbling around in our kitchen that looks like this...

I heart that galley kitchen... A few minutes later he comes back with a beautiful breakfast on a tray and the New York Times. I kinda miss the old fashioned newspaper and I'm dreaming of the day when I have time to read one cover to cover. Anyway, the hubs is a sweetheart because this is what he brings...

Simple and thoughtful. Love. As we share the sections of the newspaper, we talk about our plans for the day. He plans to play golf all day (shocker). So I say if he plans to play golf all day, then I might just spend the afternoon at the spa. He just smiles... :) He leaves and I resort to this gorgeous, light-filled space before I head off to the spa....

I have a little meeting with my Google Reader on my iPad, call my mom, meditate and make a to-do list for a dinner that I am hosting for my family the next day.

After my amazingly relaxing time at the spa, I receive a text from the hubs saying he has made dinner reservations at a "dressy" restaurant for 7PM. I love surprises and spontaneity... I run home and spend what seems like a few hours in this closet finding the perfect outfit...

Such a dream of a closet right? I ultimately decide on this pleated beauty...

Then I would resort to this space to get ready...

LOVE the black tile and the shiny tub...

We are always so busy with work and with life, so I want to be perfect for the occasion. That means I take my time. After and hour, or maybe two, I hear the hubs say," We're going to be late!!" He always says that... I finally walk out and the hubs leads me to the backyard, not the car. I'm confused until I see this...

I'm so shocked I could faint. It's a space by the lake behind our home (remember the view from our bedroom?) It's so beautiful, so peaceful, so thoughtful and so much better than a restaurant. We talk, we eat good food, we chat and we share thoughts. We are thankful.

**********************

Ahhh... So nice right? I'm always grateful for what I really have, but it's fun to dream every once in a while. What would your perfect Saturday be like? Maybe I will start a little series so others can share what their perfect day would be like. What do you think about that??

My Perfect Easter

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week. Like I said yesterday, I can't believe April is here and Easter is upon us. Time is moving by so fast! Easter was one of my favorite holidays when I was younger and it still is. Unfortunately, I am in the midst of my deadline at work (only a week to go- YAY!!), so there won't be much going on here this weekend except work and sleep. But I do have an idea of what my perfect Easter would be like. Wanna see??

Good friends and family, tasty food, a classic setting, and a fabulous outfit- that is my idea of a fun time! And I really want to make that frittata. I found the recipe here...

Before I go, I just want to thank you for stopping by. The last few months have been stressful and busy, but your comments and e-mails give me that spark of excitement that I need to get through my day. I so appreciate you! I also want to thank all of the lovely bloggers who have filled in for me over the last few weeks. Their posts were amazing! Be sure to check them out if you haven't already. I hope all of you have a fantastic and lovely weekend.

Linking up with Friday's Fancies!

Fashionable For Easter: Schue Love

Happy Thursday! Can you believe Easter is this weekend? Why do I feel like this year just started? Anyway, I'm sure many of you are planning time with family, the menus and your outfits. Speaking of outfits, I called on my girl Natasha of Schue Love to share one of her fabulous fashion collages today. Of course it's all about Easter...

***************

Hi Savor Home Readers!  I'm Natasha from Schue Love and I'm super happy to be filling in for Tiffany while she's busy getting our taxes squared away!  :)  Tiffany's blogs is one of my daily reads...and I'm loving her Fashion posts lately, so it seems only natural that I chip in my two cents on what I'm loving for Easter this year.
Easter Brunch

Blouse // Earrings // Clutch // Ring // Watch // Wedges // Scarf // Bangles // Skirt

Keeping with the on-trend fashion right now, I am loving pastel inspired hues for spring.  The above look actually punches up the colors with corals, aquas, and sunny yellows.  I love that this is the time of year where we can put away our boots and bust out our espadrilles.  No more pants...all skirts.  And to top it all off, fun and frilly accessories.  How cute are these Alexis Bittar bunny earrings?  They're perfect for Easter Brunch...while the rest of this look can be repurposed through the spring and even summer!

I love dressing up for Easter Brunch...even if we just celebrate at home!  What about you?  Do you have Easter Day traditions?

Thanks for having me today Tiffany!!

Get The Look: Recently

I've got another fabulous guest for you today! When I found Emily's blog, Recently, I think I read it for almost an hour. She has a great eye for fashion and interior design. Her talent and her genuineness comes across in all of her posts. You'll see...

********************

Hello lovely Savor Home readers!  I'm Emily from Recently and I'll be your guest blogger of the day.  To say I'm happy to be here is an understatement.  I've quickly come to adore Tiffany and her beautiful blog, so when she asked me to fill in I was honored!

Let's get down to business, shall we??

First, have you seen this picture yet?
I saw it not too long ago at Bijou and Boheme, and I felt an instant connection.
The room is from Sam Allen Interiors, and it was love at first sight!

Since I love this look so very much, I want to show you how to recreate it for yourself.

Here's what you'll need:
similar vases here & here  ||  bowl  ||  acrylic table  ||  moroccan pouf

I found a very cost-effective table at CB2, and this pouf on Amazon.  (Tiffany also featured a gold pouf last week that I know would be an excellent choice.)  You also might want to try Etsy, Ebay or your local resale shops to see if you can score an even better deal!

Once you've found the main pieces, gather your favorite accessories and books, and get to work making this look your own!

What do you think?  Do you love it as much as I do?  I'm saving my pennies for the table and poufs, because I see this as a look that can transition me through many years to come.

Tiffany, thank you so very much for having me today!  I loved every minute of it!

**************

Love this idea and you know I love the gold!! Thank you Emily! Be sure to stop by Emily's blog to see more!!

S'mores Cupcakes

I didn't have time to bake or cook anything last weekend, so I planned to do a little round up of some of my favorite egg and brunch recipes in honor of Easter. BUT, as I was searching for the recipes, I ran across this chocolate goodness. My heart just about stopped. I had s'mores for the first time last year and I will forever be in love with them, so these have landed a spot on my to-bake list after my deadline. I'm about 500% sure I will love them...

Weekend In Six Pics

Hi there!  How was your weekend? I worked 60 + hours last week, so sleep was the #1 item on my agenda this weekend. But I still have a few things to fill you in on...

I'm still decorating my office. The big painting is up way too high and I don't plan to move it down until after my deadline. So in the meantime, I started a little vignette below it to take up some space. It just might be there to stay...

I was entirely too exhausted over the weekend to cook, but I did have the energy to throw together the FRESHEST fruit salad. I just mixed navel orange slices, the juice of the orange, organic strawberries and blackberries together. So simple. So delicious.

I'm still not tired of tulips. Sorry. This week, they are peach.

I found those wedges at Target for $24.99. PLUS they are comfortable. Jackpot. You can find them here.

My photographer posted that pic of me to her company's Facebook page over the weekend. I can't wait to bust out that hat this summer!

A few other things: The Aestate is my new favorite tumblr site. I ordered this beautiful journal over the weekend. Oh and I ordered this cute tunic dress, too. :)

Happy April!
