Perfection In Paris + Links...

Over the holidays, I spent a few hours many hours browsing blogs for inspiration. A few weeks ago, Natalie did a post on Paris In Four Months, a gorgeous blog about Carin Ollson's four month stay in Paris at the beginning of 2012.  I only had a few minutes to browse it when I saw Natalie's post, but over the holidays, I swear I spent a solid hour reading her posts. The photography is stunning and it covers everything from food to fashion. Carin just moved back to Paris this week and I can't wait to follow her journey. I just had to share her blog with you today along with some other great links I found during my break. I hope your first weekend of 2013 is fantastic. I will see ya next week!

Three of my food photos were published on Foodgawker.com this week! Eeek! You view them here.

I made this on Wednesday for a snack, then made it again on Thursday and will have it again this weekend. So very good and healthy.

dream kitchen. A Mary McDonald masterpiece.

This blogger sent me the sweetest note this week, then I found her blog. I'm so glad she sent me the note...

Blogging 2.0. Fantastic tips I tell ya...

I loved her plans on how she will change and how she will stay the same in 2013.

2 Designs By 2 Talented Designers

Perhaps two of my favorite things about design bloggers are seeing their own homes and seeing the miracles they work in the homes of their clients. Today I just wanted to share those two types of spaces by two of my favorite design bloggers. A lot of "two's" there I know... Ha.

First is the master bedroom of Sarah Swanson of Sarah Swanson Design. I have always admired the simplicity of Sarah's style. She recently shared this space on her blog and I just had to share it again. The whole room just screams style and comfort. I love the throw pillows on the bed and the mirror, which reflects one of her lovely paintings. I have two of her paintings and love them. You can find more details on her space here and her paintings here.

The next space was designed by my dear friend, Marianne Simon of Marianne Simon Design. Marianne and I met in blogland and in person back in May and she is fabulous and very talented. She has a classic, clean style that is comfortable and cozy all in one. This space she designed for one of her clients is the perfect example. I have dreams about that settee! Isn't it amazing?? You can see more of the space here.

P.S. Do you spy one of Sarah's paintings in Marianne's space?? It's on the far right of the second pic... Love.

Amazing Grace!

Hi! I am so excited that today is F-R-I-D-A-Y!! My weekend is off to a great start. Last night I went to the Design* Sponge book signing at West Elm and met the amazing Grace Bonney!

Grace is such a doll on her blog and in person...

Bad, bad iPhone photo, but I didn't want to take my Canon and look anymore starstruck than I already was...

While she was signing my book, she and I were talking about the crazy traffic here at Atlanta. She was tweeting about it before she arrived. It was raining last night, so she experienced it at its worst. She gracefully thanked me for coming. I'm so excited that I met her!

I intended to leave after the signing.

But everything in the store was 15% off, sooooo I had to walk around...

I've been a little obsessed with globe pendants lately. They are so simple, but exude so much style.

If you are an avid reader of my blog, can you tell that I love mirrors? I do- especially circle mirrors. I thought this one was beautiful...

I didn't buy the lighting or the mirror, but I did buy this $5 bowl for my entry table. I would say that is all I bought...

But I would be lying to you.

I bought a few more things that I will share with you later. And...

I actually bought something for one of you...

Stop by next week for all the details!

Happy weekend!

Forgiving Martha

Alright guys! I have got a very special treat to share with you today- actually a few treats! I mentioned yesterday that I did some blog-hopping over the weekend. Well I ran across a new food blog that is a MUST SEE! Jess of Forgiving Martha is quite an amazing cook and baker who I think has mastered the art of food styling. She has Celiac disease, so she also focuses on creating recipes that are tasty and gluten-free. Let me just show you some of her yummy works of art...

Now you know that anyone who can incorporate avocado into a chocolate pudding and make it taste fabulous is talented!!

Those are just a few of her masterpieces. I highly encourage you to check out Jess's beautiful blog. You, your eyes, or your taste buds won't be disappointed!

House of Fifty Blog Feature!

Today is a very exciting day for me! On Wednesday, I received an e-mail from Janell Beals, the wonderfully talented editor of House of Fifty and author of Isabella & Max Rooms. She asked me if she could feature my recent post on clogs and my blog today on House of Fifty's blog. I promise I almost screamed in my cube at work! So I e-mailed her back and basically said, "Heck yeah!!" So if you would be so kind, please click here to check out Savor Home's feature!!

Also, if you need some good reading material for the weekend, please check out the latest issue of House of Fifty. It's hot off the press and really good!

a perfect gray: What Donna Knows For Sure...

Hello, Savor Home fans! I'm Donna from a perfect gray and I'm thrilled to be at Savor Home today while Tiffany works her way through tax season. Good luck, Tiffany, and  thanks so much for having me.

One thing I know for sure about my style is....it's all about the mix. Old and new, high (end) and low, a good mix of treasured items gives a home character and style.

I'm a nut for antiques but I find that mixing them with new pieces really makes them stand out.
in my living room

I have a pair of antique french wallpaper panels hanging in my living room. I bought them from my favorite antique dealers years ago and I'd consider them more high-end. Over both of the panels, I hung sunburst mirrors, and the one you see is brand new from a discount store!

in my dining room

I recently bought this chandelier at a thrift shop for forty dollars. It's a higher end look, but for a great lower price, just like the chippy garden statue and the over-sized wine bottle on my console. I like the mix of those pieces with my antique mirror, a much more expensive auction purchase.

in my kitchen

I love this little silver-plated pitcher with a Bakelite handle and top. I also found it at a thrift store for a couple of dollars. It's a great stylish yet low-end find for my utensils.

It's definitely harder to achieve a mix in your home but so worth it. I am constantly inspired by other bloggers and I always have fun trying different things.

Tiffany, thanks for letting me share a little of my home and style with your readers. You're the best!
