2 Designs By 2 Talented Designers

Perhaps two of my favorite things about design bloggers are seeing their own homes and seeing the miracles they work in the homes of their clients. Today I just wanted to share those two types of spaces by two of my favorite design bloggers. A lot of "two's" there I know... Ha.

First is the master bedroom of Sarah Swanson of Sarah Swanson Design. I have always admired the simplicity of Sarah's style. She recently shared this space on her blog and I just had to share it again. The whole room just screams style and comfort. I love the throw pillows on the bed and the mirror, which reflects one of her lovely paintings. I have two of her paintings and love them. You can find more details on her space here and her paintings here.

The next space was designed by my dear friend, Marianne Simon of Marianne Simon Design. Marianne and I met in blogland and in person back in May and she is fabulous and very talented. She has a classic, clean style that is comfortable and cozy all in one. This space she designed for one of her clients is the perfect example. I have dreams about that settee! Isn't it amazing?? You can see more of the space here.

P.S. Do you spy one of Sarah's paintings in Marianne's space?? It's on the far right of the second pic... Love.

The Ghastly Grape

So I have a little treat for you! Amy from Your Southern Peach is here to share a tasty cocktail for you today that is perfect for Halloween! Amy shares wonderful recipes and cocktails on her blog and is also a contributor to Society Social. I hope you enjoy!

***********************

Hi there! I'm Amy and I'm honored to be guest posting for Tiffany today! Tiffany and I began blogging about same time and over the years I've really enjoyed getting to know her via this gorgeous space we refer to as Savor Home. It just so happens we both call Atlanta home, too!

Today I'm literally mixing things up here on Savor Home. When I host large parties, I always like to have a premixed theme cocktail to get the party started. It signals that the bar is open and also takes the pressure off of guests to mix a drink from scratch. As hard as I try to be a great hostess, it's almost impossible to play bartender the entire duration of the party, especially for a larger group. Most of the time I tend to stick to stick to classics when it comes to my cocktails, but Halloween just screams for something a little more daring don't ya think? This Ghastly Grape cocktail is a gorgeous shade that plays nicely with traditional Halloween colors and is absolutely delicious, too! With three simple ingredients, this cocktail makes your Halloween frighteningly festive and fun.

Here is what you need and what to do (Makes about 3 cups):

1 1/2 cups raspberry flavored vodka
1 cup grape fruit juice
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
Orange slices for garnish

Mix all three ingredients together and chill for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice and garnish with an orange slice!

Thanks for having me today and please feel free to come say hello at my own personal blog, Your Southern Peach. Three cheers to a ghastly and giddy Halloween!

Lately...

Pumpkin carving contest winner | String lights, which I have been obsessed with lately | Mouth-watering beignets | Green leaves that just don't want to turn | Essentials (including my favorite bracelet) for an upcoming trip

Well happy Monday people! Was it me or did the weekend go by entirely too fast?? I got lots done, drank lots of hot tea (it's cold here!), had a great night out with some friends and took a long Sunday nap. I wish I could have those two days back! But hopefully this week will be as good as last week. Last week I went to a Halloween event at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens where I saw insane results from a pumpkin carving contest. Isn't that pumpkin amazing?? I also went to my new favorite restaurant in Atlanta, The Optimist. The decor was amazing and well, I would eat there daily if my waistline and budget would allow it. They specialize in fresh sustainable seafood. I stuffed my face with grilled octopus, red snapper and those succulent beignets. Yum!

On Sunday, I started packing for an upcoming trip that I will tell you about later this week! It's gonna be good!

Have a great week and those of you who live on the east coast on the U.S. are in my prayers!

Ruffled + Links

How fabulous is that top?? I love it! So how was your week? This week flew by for me, which is good because I have been looking forward to this weekend since last weekend! This weekend is my only weekend sans major plans for the remainder of the year (crazy), so I plan to take advantage of that by taking it easy, finishing this magazine (which is now officially my favorite magazine), sleeping in, lounging in my pj's for an extended period of time and trying to avoid the Halloween candy I bought for the kiddos. It's gonna be good. I hope your weekend is even better...

Here are few things that I loved this week...

One of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen. It's Danielle Steele's daughter's wedding dress, so you know it's gorgeous...

Starting Monday, I would like to try this recipe for productivity - emphasis on "would like." It definitely makes sense. Not having my news fix first thing in the morning among other things might be tough for me...

Is Pinterest killing blogs? Just asking.

Everything this designer does is just pretty. Hang out on her blog for a while and you will see.

Versace, Armani, Dior, Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Oakwell couture at their finest...

Salted caramel + croissants = love.

Floor Jewels...

If you look down in these gorgeous spaces, do you love what you see? The rugs in this lovely home are like little jewels that bring the Asian inspired decor in the space together. Quite lovely I think...

Pink Lady Spinach & Blue Cheese Salad

So - if you read yesterday's post, then you might know that I have an abundance of apples, pink lady apples to be specific, on my hands. On Sunday, I planned to make this really sweet, cute-looking dessert for you. At the end of the day, I ended up making a pink lady spinach salad - in a skillet. Please let me explain...

Pink Ladies & The Mountains

Happy Monday my friends... I hope you had a great weekend! My weekend was just about perfect. A friend and I drove up to Blue Ridge, GA for a day of apple picking and sight-seeing. If you are an avid blog reader, I so realize that this may be the 1,000th apple picking post you might have seen this fall. I'm so sorry if that is the case! But this was the only weekend I could go and I don't think there could have been a more perfect weekend. I only took a few hundred pictures (literally) to prove it. :) The weather was perfect, I had the BEST fried apple pie and found my new favorite apple, the Pink Lady. It has a delicate sweet flavor that I just adore. For lunch, I inhaled that grilled tilapia sandwich from this restaurant in downtown Blue Ridge, which is the exact same lunch I had last year after apple picking. I have yet to find one that tastes just like it. We ended the day at Lake Blue Ridge, which was a gorgeous place that reminded me that even though life can be tough, it's all good.

I also learned on Sunday that even though you might have a baking disaster in the kitchen, life is still good. I'll explain tomorrow! :)

Vaulted + Links...

Happy Friday people! How was your week? I think I can officially say that I am caught up on my rest and am feeling normal again. So thankful! I'm looking forward to a weekend of sight-seeing and apple-picking in the mountains, making something amazing with the apples that will fill my house with the smell of fall and a little lounging. Here are some links for you to check out during what I hope is a great weekend for you!

I honestly don't know what Chanel No. 5 smells like, but Brad Pitt makes me want to find out ASAP.

Peanut Butter Cup S'mores Bars. Oh.my.gracious.

Why sunglasses are so dang expensive... I have always wanted to know this!

The power of a Sharpie marker...

I'll take one of each of these bags + a dash of this blogger's amazing creativity.

This blogger also has major skills. She designed this bedroom for her daughter and it is nothing short of gorgeous...

Now this is the truth!!

A big thank you to Miya of Design Indulgences for nominating me for a Liebster Blog Award!

Brown Baggin' It

I've always loved a pretty brown bag, but I especially love them in the fall/winter. These are just a few brown beauties that I wish would magically appear in my closet. I think the handmade K.Slademade foldover clutch (bottom) is a beauty. I have one of her totes and the quality is amazing. I also love that Dries Van Noten tote (top). It would make the perfect carry-on or diaper bag. If one of these could magically appear in your closet, which one would you like it to be?

Espresso Chocolate Chip Brownie Cookies

Yesterday I took the day off. I celebrated the infrequent event with a fabulous Pilates session (first session in three weeks and my body is reminding me of that right now), watching re-runs of The Cosby Show, a nice lunch, chocolate and Christmas planning...

A Weekend Of Firsts...

Well hello!! How are you? Gosh I have missed this blogging thing. Thanks for hanging in there with me while I was working away last week. I hope you enjoyed all of the links last week. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, please do!

This past weekend I experienced life outside of my office for the first time in a while, so of course there were some firsts...

The weather here lately has been very "fallish-like" (first pic), but Saturday was absolutely gorgeous and I was able to enjoy it for the first time in a while. The view in the grocery store parking lot never looked so good (second pic)...

I went shopping for the first time, in actual stores as opposed to online, for the first time in a few months. I wanted EVERYTHING, but my prized possession was that wine glass chandelier from Pottery Barn. My dining room just had to have it, so I got it!! It was 20% off + I had another 20% off coupon, so I feel like it was meant to be. I had to order it, so I won't have it for a few weeks, but that will give me time to wash all 30 wine glasses... :)

So I raided J.Crew. I almost bought those cute boots, but I passed on them for things that I actually needed for the fall like this pencil skirt (in crimson), these jeans and a few sweaters - all on sale (except the jeans) thank you very much.

Sunday, I threw the ingredients of this chicken tortilla soup in my new Crock Pot and let it cook all day while I may or may not have lounged around my house while wearing a scrunchie. I'll never tell. That was my first time making the soup in a Crock Pot and I will be making it another 100 times... Very, very good.

I'm going to take one more day off, but will be back on Wednesday with a sinfully delicious recipe...

P.S. Another weekend of firsts...

While I'm Working...

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend. My weekend was as I said it would be - all work and sleep with a little eating in between. But your motivating comments on Friday were helpful and I really appreciate it! Unfortunately this week will be similar to the weekend, so there won't be much time for blogging. I hope to be back to my regular posting next week. But, I don't want to leave you hanging! I wanted to leave you with a list of series that some of my favorite bloggers post on certain days of the week. If any of these are new to you, I hope you love them as much as I do!

If you have a favorite series or a favorite blog (even if its your own!), please share in the comment section! I would love to check them out during my little breaks this week...
