Fun Times with Room Service Atlanta!

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! My weekend was FAB-U-LOUS! I got lots of rest and just focused on doing only the things I love. I learned that I should do that more often...

I want to start the week off with something fun and inspirational. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful event honoring Room Service Atlanta. Room Service Atlanta is an organization of local interior designers who use their talents to make that Atlanta community a much better place. I did a post on their first project at the Nicholas House here. It was a perfectly successful project and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams hosted a beautiful event to celebrate their success.

Here are some highlights...

Erika and Dayka are the leading ladies of Room Service Atlanta- and two of the most wonderful people I have met here in Atlanta.

I got there a little early, so I had time to check out the store. If you have never been to Mitchell Gold +Bob Williams, now is the time to visit the store or visit their website. This was my first visit and I found their furniture to be quite amazing. Their furniture is a perfect mix of modern and traditional. I loved all of the clean lines and the neutral tones- my favorite type of design.

No event is perfect without good food- and the food was SO good!

I loved the dessert! They were cake pops from the Candy Cake Company. So so so good! I think they would be quite perfect for a baby or wedding shower, too.

The best part of the event for me was meeting other wonderful bloggers and being able to put a face with a name...

via
This is me and my girl Lori of Lori May Interiors. I met her during the Nicholas House project, but we were able to doing some more catching up at the event. Such a sweet person...

via
Meet (from left) Rhoda of Southern Hospitality, Renae of Renae Moore Designs, and Angela of The Painted House. Rhoda and I are both GRITS (Girls Raised In The South). I learned that term from her. You can only imagine that she is quite hilarious...

I also had the pleasure of meeting Rashon (aka Mr. Goodwill Hunting). His presence was quite a surprise to me and most everyone at the event. He is a real and genuine person who is also truly talented. He has a successful blog, is the king of thrifting, and has been on the Nate Berkus Show three times! I'm so excited to see where his talents will take him to next! He is currently offering design services via Skype. How creative is that?? Be sure to check out his blog if you are interested!

I had so much fun at this event and am so excited for Room Service Atlanta. Erika and Dayka were recently featured in Atlanta Magazine and I couldn't be more happier for them. They are working on a project for the fall and I will certainly be the first one to sign up to volunteer!

Relaxing

I'm loving these rustic and cozy spaces. They are a perfect depiction of what I will be doing this weekend, which is relaxing. No bbq's, no rustle, no bustle. I'm even going to take advantage of the holiday and return to regular posting on Tuesday... Just need to relax...

I hope you have a fabulous holiday weekend...

My Latest Diaper Cake

I've confessed several times that I am not much of a DIY'er, but there is one thing that I truly enjoy making...

I LOVE making diaper cakes! I have been making them for a few years now. I watched a few YouTube videos and kind of came up with my own way of making them.

I made this cake for a very dear friend last week for her baby shower. It was the perfect centerpiece for the gift table. Would you believe that there are 205 size 3 diapers in this cake?? Phew!!! My friend's smile was priceless when she saw it, which is what I enjoy the most about making these "cakes."

You can see more of my cakes here. If you live in the Atlanta area and would like for me to make a cake for you, just send me an e-mail to let me know!

Rise & Shine!

If these golden Elie Saab masterpieces don't get you going on this Monday, then I don't know what will...

If my week is going to be anything like my weekend with my dad, then this is going to be a great week! We had the BEST time! I hope your week is off to a good start!

Father-Daughter Time

I'm so excited because my dad is coming to visit me this weekend! Based on that quote, my dad is the richest man in the world. I can't wait to see him.

Have a great weekend...

Love It...

Layla at The Lettered Cottage recently posted this pic of her bright bedroom. I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it. I love beds that look and feel cozy and warm. The quilt and neutral tones in this space create that look perfectly. Love it...

Wishes...

Today I am wishing...

That I could wake up here...

and get ready for my day here.

Then go to this kitchen...

to make my favorite breakfast- blueberry pancakes.

After breakfast, I would love to do a little work and a little blogging here...

Then relax and take a little nap here. You know how much I love my naps...

Knowing me, this is where I would be for the remainder of the day...

Just wishing on this Wednesday...

The Osbourne's Rockin' New L.A. Home

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Well I admit, I LOVE Sharon Osbourne. You never know exactly will come out of her mouth, but you can trust that it's real and it's honest. That's why I like her. I love British accent, too. I can now add her home to the list of things I love about her. Her new home in Hidden Hills, CA was recently featured in Architectural Digest. It's MUCH different than her last home that was decorated in dark, rich tones. L.A. designer Martyn-Lawrence Bullard designed this cozy, bright and beautiful home that is just mouth-wateringly gorgeous...

I'm wishing I could visit her for a spot of tea and a fun conversation... like... today...

Weekend To-Do List

Happy Friday!!! Those are my two favorite words right now...

I hope you have had a great week. I spent most of my week on Pinterest!! I think it should be outlawed!! I have lost a few hours of sleep due to my hours of browsing and pinning- but I love it. I know I am late joining, but I knew that time was going to be wasted if I joined, but I took the plunge anyway. I just need to learn to pace myself.

I always start my weekends off by making a to-do list. It just keeps me organized. I'm a stickler for organization. I did a search for "to-do lists" on Pinterest and found this one. Gosh you can find EVERYTHING on there! Anyway, I love this list and need to do everything on it. However, I'm not sure I can stay off the Internet now that Blogger died for a few days! But it's all good!

What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, make it a good one!

Style For Less... Much Less

Let me just keep it real here. I like expensive things! Can't help it. If I had to choose between two identical objects, one of which cost $100 and the other $50, I would like the one that cost $100 the most. Never fails. But, 90% of the time I will purchase the $50 object. That is what is important right??

I must say that I was completely outsmarted by these two lovely spaces. They are featured in the High/Low section of Style At Home. They are nearly identical,  but one was styled for much less than the other.

Can you guess which one was styled for less?

Can you believe that there is a $5,500 difference between the two??

Click here to see which space cost less, but come back and tell me how you did!

Something Pretty...

I hope you had a great weekend! Mines was great. I spent some quality time with my family, got some good rest, and ate some good food! Most importantly, my mom had a great weekend as well.

My week is going to be super busy, so I wanted to start if off with something pretty and something light. I'm loving this ruffle top. Well actually, I love the entire look. It's classic, it's fresh- it's just pretty.

Miraculous Makeovers: Room Service Atlanta

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer with Room Service Atlanta. Founded by Dayka Robinson and Erika Ward, Room Service Atlanta is an organization of local interior designers who use their talents to make Atlanta a better place for those in need.

Their first project was to install home interiors at The Nicholas House. The Nicholas House is a local shelter that houses families and assists them with making the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. The house consists of dorm-like bedrooms with the basic necessities like beds, a dresser, and maybe a mirror. They had no style and no flair. But the amazing work of the designers transformed these basic spaces into true havens. Here are the amazing transformations of five of the designers...

AMAZING right??!! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when the residents saw their new spaces. Dayka and Erika have created a beautiful thing and I had to share!! Please visit the Room Service Atlanta website for a list of other designers who participated in this fabulous project!
