Taking Time To Smell The Roses

How was your weekend? My weekend was quite bittersweet. Since busy season is over, I got some much needed rest, "studied" a stack of design magazines and spent some quality time with friends. But I also learned that I lost a very dear friend. He was my manicurist turned great friend for the last five years. My friend was the type of person who would sit and listen to anything I had to say about anything and everything. I mean really listen. You don't meet too many people like that. He was so genuine, friendly and always had a contagious positive attitude.

His untimely and unexpected death really made me sit back and think about what is and what is absolutley not important in life and that we should always take the time to stop and smell the roses. So I bought the spray roses above as another reminder for me to do just that. Life is too short and you just never know...

I'll be back later in the week with a happier subject, but just needed to take some time to reflect today...

  3. That's sad... you know, I have the same relationship with my manicurist, I can tell her almost anything, she's just like a confidante, and she makes nice nail art too ♥

  7. I am so sorry for your lost. Sometimes God put people in our lives who are very loving and special...! We must keep in mind that this special friendship/relationship has been transformed from physical to spiritual. My thoughts and prayers are with you... Yes, we must stop and "smell the roses"! God bless you!
