One Word

Hi friends!! Happy 2012! I am THRILLED about this year for some reason. I have a feeling that tons of exciting things are right around the corner. It's a nice feeling to have I must say...

I made some New Years resolutions last year. Some worked out, most didn't. This year I chose to do something different. Lauren of Simply LKJ gave me a wonderful idea, which was to choose just one word to focus on during the year. I love that.

My word for 2012 is...

 I would like to...

Learn more about God
Learn how to be more patient
Learn more about how to really live life. I mean really live...
Learn how to integrate more balance in my life (God help me on that one)
Learn that everything doesn't have to be done right this second...
Learn more about photography
Learn more about food (Baking a chocolate cake is up first- never done that)
Learn how to complain less
Learn how to be more appreciative and thankful
Learn Photoshop (That green circle in the photo above was done in Photoshop. I've got a ways to go, huh?)
Learn how to ride a horse
Learn how to become a better writer
Learn how to stay off my iPhone so dang much (Ugggghhh)

Perhaps if I learn those things, I will come closer to learning my purpose in life, which is a goal I have been working on for a few years now. The journey of trying to find out has been quite a ride. I have my seatbelt on...
..................................

So "learn" is just one word, but it encompasses so much right? I realize that some of the things on my list are things that one learns over time and not in one year, but starting the process is an accomplishment of a goal in my book. I think the learning process will be fine as long as I keep this in mind...

If you had a word for 2012, what would it be?

  1. Lovely message and if I had to choose a word it could be learn or just 'do" as in do finally the things I have been dreaming of and aspiring to for sooo long! This is going to be a "do" kind of year for me, I am determined!
Also I passed along an award to you on my blog just now....so well deserved Tiffany!

  4. My word is LAUGHTER. It was the photo of a very young girl standing in front of a camel in the desert with their mouths wide open in a burst of LAUGHTER that grabbed my attention. Tina of Enchanted Home recently posted it. That photo with the quote "Laughter is a Smile that Bursts" is my message to lighten up, share more laughter with people, and enjoy what I have while I have it.

  6. I love the word you chose Tiffany! And, isn't it easy to see how one simple word carries over into so many aspects of our lives? Thanks for the shout out. I am loving reading everyone's word for the new year.

  8. A great idea and a great word! The first word that comes to mind is "enjoy". Living in this island where there is absolutely nothing, I think I have to focus on enjoying every single and simple moment ;)

  9. I love that. That is a great one. If I had to pick a word--it would be "choose". I stole that from the blog owner of primitive and proper...but I love that. I choose to be better.

  10. Action! I'm really good at planning and organization, but sometimes never get past it. So this year is about the "DO" 1

  16. Happy New Year to YOU!! I have the same feeling about this year, I have excitement running in my veins, I am not sure why,but I truly do. I have phrases that come to me from time to time. My signature phrase and one that I always sign off on my post is,
"Enjoy the Process!" I try to cherish life and all it has to offer and I feel it is important to slow down and Enjoy the process of whatever I am doing. I don't have my word or phrase yet, but I am sure it will come to me, it always does. Right now it would have to be, Choose Joy!! Kathysue
