My friend Marianne posted a gorgeous picture yesterday of a living room designed by Beth Webb that blew me away. I have seen pictures of her work on blogs and on Pinterest, but I never visited her website until yesterday. Something she said on the "Meet Beth" page of her site struck me. She said, "A room should never be without something black."
I couldn't agree with her more. The pops of black work exceptionally well in these neutral spaces (all designed by Beth). Neutral spaces are my favorite, but everything tends to run together if everything is the same color. The eye doesn't have anywhere to land. The pops of black in these spaces provide a place for the eye to stop and stare. Perfection.
I'm looking around my neutral bedroom as I write this post and the only pop of black I see right now is the back of the TV remote. Pitiful. I must work on that...
I will have to check her out, I too believe in the powers of black magic....so I will absolutely visit her site. I love seeing touches of black in a room, its such a powerful color when used correctly! Enjoy your day Tiffany.
ReplyDeleteI have a dear friend of mine who told me that years ago. She even introduced me to black candles, simple, but it works!
ReplyDeleteBeth and I would get along great then! I have a thing for black in both my home and my wardrobe. Going to check out her site now! :)
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen is ridiculous---wow. Talented is an understatement. I do have pops of black (never really realized it)......I have to admit--I love black spray paint. :) Her work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGood point! Black just works, no matter how you use it! Love the little pops. Especially against the neutral decor. I am looking around my office and I think I achieved it in this room. Black picture frames. ( : Done!
ReplyDeleteLoving the pops of black! So chic and sophisticated! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW. I spent a few minutes staring at that first picture. I love it. It's so sophisticated.

ReplyDeleteI agree. A touch of black makes everything else in the room come to life. Love that kitchen! Just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
